Chinchilla T-shirts...Finally
Posted by Jennifer Snyder on Sun, Jan 25, 2009 @ 09:45 PM
Ok so I can't hide my excitement. We FINALLY have shirts live on
chinchillaplace. I know I have been yammering on about chinchilla t shirts for
some time but it took a little longer than expected to pull everything
together.
1ST We had to locat great artists. Thanks to Jones and Ajani we ended
up with some pretty cool ideas and images (see chinchilla art page. But once the images were
completed we had to find at t-shirt place to make them. There are several
great options out there; Zazzle, custom ink and others, but in the end of the
day we chose Zazzle as an easy way to get started on t-shirts.
Once Zazzle was chosen as the
shopping cart engine I thought we were in business. Chinchilla Place is built
on a CMS, this means it is SUPER easy to make changes to the site without
begging a web designer or tech person every time I need something. The CMS and
all the easy to use tools that have made chinchilla place possible are all
thanks to the super awesome internet marketing company HubSpot that
I work for. Hey if they can make this work for chinchillas imagine the
possibilities...It's also VERY affordable so all you entrepreneurs out there
holla:).
Ok but back to business once the shirts and the zazzle account were all
complete, I ran into a snag. Zazzle sent me a PDF on how to install their
shopping cart. With the little time I have and the little knowledge I have on
HTML this became a daunting task to install. In short...I was totally stuck.
It's not that I couldn't learn how to install it, I guess all things are
possible, but the time it would take me to learn was, well, a little
overwhelming. Owning 9 chins and a website and having a full time job and being
a full time wife, daughter, sister and all my other important roles it was a
bit much. In the end I relied on one of the sweetest sources to find, sell or
do anything under the sun…Craig’s list. CRAIGSLIST.COM IS AMAZING. First they
helped me find some awesome artists and then a great web person, Micah from http://tachyondesigns.com
The people I worked with really pulled my ideas into a reality. They worked
hard and were very timely and professional in putting things together. Finally
Chinchilla Place has shirts thanks to some good ideas from the team here, some
terrific artists and hard working web people! Please check out the new chinchilla
shirt line and vote for your favorite. Your feedback is appreciated and I
would love to hear new ideas for fun and funky new shirts and other chinchilla
merchandise.
